Powering and controlling AC 16v accessories via DCC?

Hi everyone,

I have a Sprog 3 DCC command station, Digitrax DS64, and have some 16v AC powered accessories that I would like to power and control via a DCC decoder, is that possible?

Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:

1. Turn on/off 16v AC powered lights in a building.

2. Turn on/off a 16v AC powered smoke generator for the building that simulates smoke from a fire.

3. Turn on/off lights an other accessories as my layout grows.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

George

This is pricey, but will do what you want:

John's switch is the simplest way. If you really want DCC control substitute a 12volt relay and a cheap decoder. Use a function to energize the relay. Function on, accessories on. Function off, accessories off.

Are you using a 16vac power supply to run this stuff?
