N scale Engine Company 65 firehouse, laser cut kit

[American Archetype]

American Archetype is pleased to announce its first laser cut N scale structure kit: a prototypical mid-block firehouse appropriate for both small towns and big cities featuring true-to-scale brick texture by Monster Model & Laserworks.

The Engine Company 65 kit is based on the firehouse located at 33 West 43rd Street, New York, New York. The prototype has been modified over the years, including the replacement of the original cornice with pressed metal, a change to the main door and removal of large lamps in front of the first floor portholes. The American Archetype version strives to replicate the structure as it may have appeared in the 1940s-1950s.

The kit is made from laser cut wood and laserboard and is easy to assemble (instructions may be previewed on our website). It can usually be completed in a couple of hours, minus paint and glue drying time. Completed model is 3.79" L x 2.06" W x 4.44" H.

- 1 sheet .015″ plain laserboard parts
- 1 sheet .015″ brick textured laserboard parts
- 1 sheet of clear acetate

Note, the grainy texture on the structure surface in the photographs is not present on the model (the texturing is a result of some airbrush weathering we applied). All non-brick surfaces are smooth. More photos on our site show the facade's smooth surfaces.

Very good!!  It has what a lot of kits these days lack, charactor and lots of texture.  It really captures a masonary structure and for those of us who plan for urban themed layouts, one of those buildings that will anchor a scene.  Like the idea of the Ghost buster's sign too

Ghostbusters firehouse is Hook & Ladder Company #8. Maybe someday we'll do that one. Interesting note on that though, the #8 building in Tribeca was literally cut in half when they added the side street. Prior to that it was double its current width and two bays. A mirror images of what's there was removed.
