Anyway you can show what you mean by the "pulled/stretched" changes you mention?  I rather like what you showed previously with the one exception being that I'd like to see thicker more substantial verticals above the arch, supporting the deck.

I agree that the verticals need beefed up, they will also be cleaned up quite a bit since we are now planning to resin cast the sides. By using a different material for lasering the master the improvements will be dramatically better. I'm even thinking an option for the date of your choice would be really cool. If you go back and look at the photo of the real bridge you'll see a couple of lamp posts near the center. Many modeling possibilities.

Taller version is on top, wall extensions for the ends are designed but not in the photo. This is where you would most likely see a date as this part is on the road just before the actual bridge.

Beautiful work Karin.  Reminds me of the many fantastic bridges on Hwy 101 along the Oregon coast, many of which are due to Oregon State Bridge Engineer Conde B. McCullough.  Is your prototype also by McCullough?

I took this route many times as a kid while visiting my grandmother in Lincoln City.  Wish I coulld find a home for one in Tehachapi. Alas there's precious little water for my model roads to cross...

I may have to do just that. All I have to do is use a thicker road material. Easy fix I think.

Thanks Gary, I don't know who designed the bridge but I could try to dig that info up. You are so right about the bridges on the Oregon coast. Been over all of them myself and never get tired of them. Here is the bridge over the mouth of the Rogue River at Gold Beach. I love bridges and taking pictures of them. Um, no I won't be modeling this particular one!

Found it: the North Main St bridge in Myrtle Creek OR.   I don't know if this is a McCullough, but it sure looks like it.  The rail line is indeed the ex-SP Siskiyou line which - I believe - is now operated by Central Oregon & Pacific (CORP).  That Gold Beach bridge is fantastic too; I love the art deco piers and the railing detail.

Any chance you can add some relief detail to the insides (road side) of the guardrails.  Check the prototype photos, and you'll see what I mean.  The flat detail inside is obvious to me.  Otherwise, this looks great.  If I were still planning to model the RF&P, I would order a kit to bash into a model of the railroad's Rappahannock River bridge.

Man! Does that look amazing! The possible price range mentioned is nice too, although I don't think I have anywhere on my layout this can go.

For some reason, and whatever it is worth (which is nothing), I tend to prefer the overall look of the shorter bridge over the taller one. Not really sure why. Both are gorgeous.
