Glad they decided to do the 8' door versions before tackling the 6' door versions. I'm hoping to see some B&M 'Blue/Black Scheme' in the next offering.
I wonder if there was some planning that went into that, or was it just blind luck ?
OK, so you got my attention You, of all people, have some inside info on why this happened, wanna share?I mean, you have a wonderful model with the added advantage of having 100s of 'as delivered' as well as 'repaints' and 'leased back' schemes well into the 80s. You have a lifetime of releases to go. Kudos Always interested in the whys of manufacturer decisions......
When we decided to do the car, the most popular model out there has a 6 foot door, so we decided to do the 7 foot and 8 foot doors first. Since our original 40' box car has an 8 foot door, we went with the 7 foot version first, then moved to the 8, and will eventually get around to doing the 6.
That jumped out at me as a much more obvious issue than the width of the door itself.
NYC Pacemaker car with the red and gray painted right across the door? Instead of the door being entirely redlike it's supposed to be? That jumped out at me as a much more obvious issue than the width of the door itself.
I'd expect Atlas to get the door right, the ladders may be a bigger problem.
The eight-foot door width is correct for the NYC 175000-175024 series. Making the door all-red is easily done.Painting the ladders black shouldn't be a problem, given that they are separate parts and not molded as part of the body.
