Juat caught a passenger train but didn't see the head end and no smoke but the last cars were gons with coal and a backhoe attached on the railing of the one gon.  Anyone know is this is an NS steam run?

That sounds like it could be a MOW train.

Nope too many passenger cars in both tuscan and stainless steel sides which looked like NS letterboards.  I've seen photos of those gons with the NS steam trains, so I figured that is what it was.

That's Southern sweetness. The NKP 765 is only going to Ohio and Pennsylvania this spring.

They were there this morning around 7 , it was the small NS steamer that they rebuilt like last summer . There was also 2 helpers , excuse me I forgot the steam loco road number .
The barrels along the track are still there , maybe they will come back at the end of the day .

Edit : this is the steamer they are using :

Train is now sitting in Roanoke.  You can just see the last 4 passenger cars.

The train just pulled in. You can only see the tail end and a swarm of railfans and families.
if you can't conduct yourself, conduct freight
