Atlas painted N scale shells

Atlas use to offer painted engine shells sans mechanisms. Do they still sell them like this anymore and were do you find the link for this on their site?

Good luck! I've been trying to email them about getting some hard ballast car trucks and I think all my spam filter murders everything I send. Maybe I'll call them.

Hmmm.... your SPAM filter?  Do you thing that their replied are ending up being filtered? Can't you check your SPAN folder?  I always look over my filtered emails (a quick glance at the sender address and subject line).

Just last week I contacted Atlas (using my Yahoo emails address) to get a replacement part for their 4-4-0 loco and we exchanged several emails.  The emails were always answered the next day (and the replacement part already arrived).  I used their "parts" email address.

This is deja vu ... all over again.   

Do what your father's and grandfather's generations used to do, before email existed:  pick up the telephone and call.  If you call from your cell phone, no long distance charges.  In other words, it costs you no more to place a telephone call than it does to send an email.

Pick.  Up.  The.  Phone. 

The only part of the Atlas phone number that has changed in the last 50 years is the area code, from 201 to 908.  Dial 908-687-0880.  Ask for the parts department.  They don't bite.

My experienece is that it is best to call in the afternoon. Email will work, but typically takes a couple of days to get a response.

But without going into a lengthy discussion of the generational disconnect between Gen Y, X, and the boomers...
I actually got an email back from Steve Millenbach today. I was disappointed to hear they do not sell 70 ton friction bearing trucks (National C-1 70-ton friction bearing).
Need them for F30d TOFCs.

Be thankful you don't have to write and mail a letter to get a response.

I know plenty of Gen-X, Gen-Y and Millennials who will pick up the phone when necessary - such as when email or texting isn't getting the desired response.

Atlas doesn't offer the Nat C-1 trucks separately.  When the Harts were brought in, they inadvertently didn't order extra trucks and the model hasn't warranted a re-run.  If/when it is re-run, extra trucks will be imported for parts.  In the mean time, there are many modelers who prefer the easier path to MTL coupler installation by simply swapping the factory-installed trucks for MTLs.  I got my supply a couple of years ago by posting a request for the Hart trucks on various train boards (no, I don't have extra to spare).  I suggest traveling that route to get what you seek.
