I like the old stuff for my growing junk yard I like these kits because you can do many different things to make them look like they have sat for a few decades. I model 1978-1980 so these fit nicely 8)

I like the old stuff for oil field work and old Louisiana farm scenes.

I just got of the phone with a very nice lady named Nicole, with GHQ. I had called to inquire about the possibility of re releasing some of the retired models as well as the availability of the log loader discussed earlier in this thread. It is available, and I will be ordering another one. (Thanks for the link Dave!) Nicole said it wasn't their normal practice to re release discontinued models, but it really depends on customer demand. GHQ releases about 50 models a year, mostly in the military line. N scale is not a large market as I think most of us know. GHQ, does however base most of their models from customer requests, and nicole said they review and consider every request they get.

You can email any requests you may have for vehicles or equipment to customerservice@ghq.com

I for one will be requesting a Catapillar 420E backhoe  :D

I think it was. I was thinking a new one. I think sometimes when they discontinue a kit it's cause the mold is worn out. So if they need to make a new one, my vote, being a modern modeler, is a more modern backhoe. The 420E is a "fly by wire" machine. No mechanical controls, electronic joysticks. Right up my alley, era wise.

Oh boy, if they brought this out I would be broke.  :D

IIRC, the R50bs were announced a year or so ago and were to be released at the end of 2012. So..., hopefully they'll see the light of day soon. And yes, it will be expensive.  ;)

Had to look up what the heck an R40b is/was.....figured it was a Pennsy something or other. Looks cool, but my money is safe.

Best wishes, Dave

I would love to see a Case 580. These are found everywhere and the hexagram cabin always looked classy.

Its a vintage 40's Cat D8. These were used a lot in post war reconstruction in Asia and Europe.

Well, I e-mailed GHQ about the R50b, but they said they had no updates about this project.  :(

No updates?! What does that mean? :?  They didn't confirm or deny, I hope its not dead. I seem to recall hearing they are tight lipped on things, so maybe that all it is.  Ugh!
