DOg and Al, thank you!  Scaling down the pipe diameter now...  Found a round object at exactly 0.6" or 8' in N scale.  Pics later.  Going to tune the process a little better.  If it looks good I may make a mold...

Ok I was not satisfied with the original casting results and the culvert diameter was too big so I found a smaller round object to use:

After removing the core I trimmed and carved mortar joints around the opening and along each side and across the top.  Sorry for the lousy focus on the first shot:

So hows it look compared to the drawing?  I am going to make a mold for Joshua's culverts.  Should I make a wide version too?

Should I produce in hydrocal?

John,
That is some really nice handiwork!   How tall is that thing in inches?

Thanks everybody.  Max, I'll get dimensions tonite.  I'm gonna have to start using the dime trick!

Eric you should note the reason for the different widths is on the PRR drawing.  The wide version is only for culverts laid on soft material.  It shows a wood underlayment.  The skinnier one is for placement on a firm foundation such as bedrock.

Josh asked me if wing walls were present but I would think they would have appeared on this drawing if they were.  I'm guessing the culverts might have been installed more like this?:

Here's a link to the only pic I could find that kinda proves my theory:

Max dimensions are 1.3" high by 1.02" wide.  Making a second one now...

Complete pair!
