Sometimes rail cars give me some headache...  :?

Is the Kato smoothside baggage car based on a specific prototype and for which RR could it be used?

It is worth noting that this is the original baggage car offered by Kato and not the car that is part of the City of Los Angeles set.  Accurate for UP 5664 - 5678 ACF baggage - messenger cars and a reasonable stand-in for the UP 5711 - 5745 baggage - storage cars, which had the roof vent placed closer to one of the doors.  A Garland vent from American Limited Models roof and underbody car parts set (#8050) could be used if the placement change was desired... the difference in its placement can be seen in the images linked to below:
