wOW!  I'll be d@mned if that isn't the match you need . . . How'd you figure that one out?  and what's your initial platform for the conversion?

The Road Apples Mack DM kits were trash. Air bubbles are everywhere. Lineside took over the line and used vaccum casting which really improved the quality of the models. One problem area in the mold was the grill, which is partially filled in.

I took a look through my parts box and found an old MDC FMC box. The doors looked about right. I used the doors on two conviersions (one seen above) and now am working on my third, but can not find the shell I was using for parts.

On a related note, Kato C30-7 dynamic brake radiator screens work well for conventional mack grills. I am trying to fit a part into the nose of a Magnuson DM600 series with the fiberglass hood.

that pic you show is not a snoot.  look at the  wheel. if you turn the wheel straight the wheel would be centered. the hood just looks long becuse  of the angle of the wheel.

Check the lenth of the hood compaired to the cab height. You will find its actually very close to the Lineside model. The Con-Cor wheels are a bit undersized and I think the rear portion of the fender is set back just a hair too far on the model, but the hood is the right length.

The DM800 had I think 2 or three hood lengths, in addition to front axle locations. Some wrere centered, and many were set back like this:

Here is a great profile shot of the snoot:

The DM800 is probably one of the greatest looking truck of all time. It is pure utility exemplified and everything is steel and metal.
