That is a great scene.  The K4 really grabs the eye and fits in very naturally.  It definitely does not look like n scale.

Yeah, I agree with Scott.  It looks like the 1:160 railfan lucked out capturing this meet.

Great , feel for you , if you took a beer everytime the Leafs won a game since their last Stanley cup win ( 1967 ) it must not have cost you a lot of beer money ...   ;)

Thanks, guys...  It's rewarding to be able to model the Pennsy the way I've always wanted to.  These are my two brass locomotives, and obviously represent a substantial investment.  They do convey the sense of the Pennsy in its heyday.

I am still somewhat jealous of what all they have in HO for Pennsy, but I like that I can capture PRR mainline ops in such a tiny space as my back room.

Got another porject I know I can fix-up in short order.

An ATSF SD40-2 snoot, a guy traded me that and some cash for an old P2K B&O SD9. Older Athearn RTR model. It's handrails are shot and it's dirty (cigarette smoke and dirt). So far I've disassembled the drive and added cut levers and lift ringsand replaced broken and/or missing part. I'll probably add MU hoses, clean it, and clean out the trucks later today.

All I really need to order is handrails and 1 sideframe (missing strut).

Down to the fine strokes with Lewistown Junction--only need to paint the canopies, glaze the windows and do a bit of touching-up.







Dave, it should be ready for the photo shoot--assuming you reserve a bit of time at the last minute to install it...

I've found that I prefer Jax blackeners to Blacken-It. Jax offers various formulas to produce a range of colors, including dark browns.

Here`s the mains ripped out in the name of progress on the pennsy
they will be relayed 1/2" higher making trains more easily seen over the yard tracks plus the track work and ballast will look better this track was laid about a year ago and I`ve gotten alot better since then at track work and ballast









The Curve will be next but after a few hours of scraping with a putty knife you get tired and decide to do more tomorrow

Lee , could you just tell us why it is coming down . You were adding to it recently , so even if you declare it done it can't be boredom . Is the layout room being repurposed ? Just a shame to see all those efforts go by the wayside .
