    • Trying to model the BCR Fort St John BC (again)...while living in Australia (what could possibly go wrong?)

Deployed my track and turnout testing drone..  fitted with Kato low profile wheels (each verified with an NMRA Gauge).    This is to test all track and turnouts for any problems.   So far so good..  It runs through most of the Atlas code 55 turnouts smoothly.  Any issues can now be tracked to the turnouts themselves and fixed with some careful file work.

It's been a while but here we go. I ordered a Tomix Track Cleaner from Japan and I successfully installed a Digitrax decoder in it.

Sorta finished the other L1s I was working on. My hands shake a lot and I can't hardly see those small parts so a lot of details were left off. I was hoping I could do better...

Revised the cab on the phantom R2.Wasn't happy with the look of the other...

Needs some filler and paint.

One of 3 BN NE12s I am working on:

That was my fist masking and painting job. I don't think I did too bad (using blue painters tape and cheap spray cans), but it does need a little touch up and I think I can improve a little bit more. As for why 1 of 3, the silver crazed the green on the roofs... The other two will be painted silver first, then green, then yellow. I *could* do one still in Q paint and it would be fairly easy.

A 20 dollar P2K GP7 I picked up today. Needs some TLC, but I can turn it into a BN unit. The question is which one?  :D

A haul of detail parts, a trio of atlas EV cabooses (the SSW I've had, and is going to be stripped), and the GP7
Vincent

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

Here is an example how small the NZT D2 tractor is:

24 hours into the N Scale Nevada Piggy Pcaker PC-70 build:

Willmodels International with a dump bed from a CMW white:

This will be an MBTA Swingmaster. They used these for maintainance on the green line:

Atlas Ford 9000 with scratch built bed:

Details Associates Kenworth with a scratch built bed. The cab was rebuilt - I can to carve the door myself. The windshield was reworked with styrene. I spend more time on the damn cab than the bed.

I've been working on a few locos and attended the RPI operating session today.
There's nothing photo worthy yet, but after I restock my paints at Springfield I should be able to get a good deal of work done.

Also here's their model of North Bennington(I'm typing from the living room in one of the prototype houses in this scene). All scenes are modeled almost exactly like the prototype.

and the real one.

24 hours into the N Scale Nevada Piggy Pcaker PC-70 build:

I did one construction stage per night over consecutive nights when I built mine years ago, rather than push through it in two or three nights, so I didn't get frustrated or feel overwhelmed.  I also used steel music wire instead of the brass wire for much stronger railings.  The finished product is a great model.

Bryan, I have to ask. Did you even read the instructions after the first page or did you go by the photos. The instructions I have for this model are by far the worst (you are officially off the hook, Worcester Union Station) I have ever seen.

Oh, and I would love to see photos of your finished model.

I've been working on the Joseph Branch on my friends UP Blue Mountains based layout.  I've been focusing on the town of Imbler, OR for the most part as it is one of the first areas you see when you enter the layout area.

I've taken it from this:

and this:

To this:

and this:

Still a LOT to do, but it's coming along nicely!
My plan is to start a layout engineering thread with a lot of updates from this build.

Ahahhahaahahah. I just finished working on that same kit!

I visited John's layout, ran my new (gorgeous) Bluford transfer caboose, then a bunch of Reading stuff (I'm really getting hooked with early 70s modeling).

Then tonight I got to working on my new Onetrak module. Most of the work was on one of the stores that will line the street, getting it assembled and ready for paint. I also worked out more building and track placement.

I realized that, by adding another siding, and keeping it "on center", I can actually use this one next to my other active one, and provide a nice two track yard. If not, it's just a nice long industry track for spotting boxcars.

I'm really liking the way it's shaping up. It's reminding me of a combination of some of the towns along the B&O, and of Huntingdon PA.

Also, one of my acquisitions from Kleins today. A combination of a Dave Vollmer photo of his PRR RS11, plus the ones in this gallery (http://p5b4702.rrpicturearchives.net/archivethumbs.aspx?id=87407) convinced me that this was a wise purchase.

Ed,  In 1985 that PC RS11 might have looked like this:

Oh yeah, without a doubt!

I almost had one of those, but the guy I bought it off of confused that (an MT-4) which was used for general yard service with the six axled version (an MT-6) that got used for hump service. Since I'm never going to own a hump yard, it moved onto a new home (with someone who had just completed an SD38 to go with it). It needed a little restoration work, and I'm waiting to see that done and photos of it turn up around here.

Cool pic.
