Outstanding.  When are they going on sale? ;)

Good question. Although the mastering process was (as was demonstrated) quick and relatively painless, I need to make as many production molds as I can in order to produce them in volume. To add to this, I'll also need to use a much slower-setting resin than normal for the extra strength needed to keep those loops intact. And then there are the decals, which I haven't even started yet. It may be 2-3 weeks before I can get up a full head of steam.

I'd like to sell them in sets of twelve, which is what fits in a gondola (at least, the correct one). Based on the production labor involved, it's looking like they may be somewhere around $12 a set.

Works for me.  I'll buy them as soon as Karin stocks them.

Great job DKS! All SPFs are in debt to you. I am willing to get out of debt when these come to the markets.

Wow, I'm in too!  Hey, speaking of decals, do the TrainCat G22 gons come with decals or is there a specific Microscale sheet I should be looking for?

David,
Not to much your production up too much, but do we need decals?  I'm not going to put my set in a gon and use them - they are way too out of era - but I do plan to get a set and weather the heck out of them for use around the layout.

Some observations on my part

DKS, I hope you do decals. Even if it raises the price. $12 is more than reasonable.

Other Dave- TrainCat's website won't let me order the G22. It's taking me to a "not found" page. Did it let you order? It also says decals are "coming soon." Is Bob on these boards?

There is some good info on G22 in issue 6 of TKM:
The G22B was a container-service gondola re-equipped with 100-ton trucks. This sub-class could be found with a variety of containers including the PRR-produced HB-1A or Youngstown-produced HB-4. From a high of about 400 of these dedicated service cars in 1952, most of these survived into the 60’s.
There are pics of HB1a and HB4 containers.

Decals are no big deal (I've already finished the artwork). They add a trivial amount of cost, but create a value-added product.

I'm in for at least 2 packs if not more.  Thank You David.  This is something I've wanted for a long time.

Before you do that, I'm buddies with the guy who is Mount Vernon shops. He's pretty busy, but might be able to help out on the decal front as well.

Doesn't he already do decals for HO containers?

Count me in for at least one set. If I can figure out how to work them into the operating scheme, I'm in for more.

I am in as well , and they might get stuck in gons or flats that the prototype didn't do , depending on if I can get the exact gon's or not .

EDIT

I would like to have the tall round top type and coke as well .
