Problem with Model Power Bay Window Caboose.

I have two Model Power bay window cabooses that have trucks that snap in - no bolster pins required. I was trying to remove the rapido couplers on one pair of trucks when the truck just broke apart.

I don't know how to put Micro-Trains or Atlas trucks on the caboose... bolster hole is way too big for pins. HELP. Anyone have a spare truck? Or a recommendation what to do?

Hmm... I would say,
trash the caboose...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
"It works! It works!"

What if you fill the bolster hole with epoxy and drill a new hole for MT or Atlas truck bolster pins?

Jesus is my engineer! :)

I simply spread the retainer clips apart with a small screwdriver until they would hold an MTL truck in place.

I was afraid someone would suggest that. LOL. I don't have the tools required to center the bolster pin hole, and I'd prefer not to have a car that crabs down the track. I know... I'm impossible to please.

Hmm... soft shell crabs
are delicious...

Kiz,

I probably have some lying around on my workbench. I'll take a look tonight.

Best wishes, Dave

The retainer clips are built into the trucks. And since one of the trucks broke apart... hmm... maybe I can find separate clips...

Hmm... Kiz must not
know I copyrighted
"hmm..."

MTL trucks come with a donut shaped washer that will fill the gap between the large MP bolster hole and the smaller MTL kingpin. These are used with Con-Cor cars as well, which used to use a similar split pin.

I tried that. The MTL part is too big.

Hmm... Kiz is just one
big problem...

Got drills...?

None that are the right size. By the time I order the right size and pay postage, I could just buy another caboose :)

This is getting complicated. I guess I'll just find another use for the caboose. Hey, that rhymes...

Hmm... I can see this
caboose becoming a
yard office...

Kiz,

I found a couple in the dark recesses of my bench. PM me your address and I will send them to you.

Best wishes, Dave
