That looks great, especially with the train in there for scale.  I think your colors are very natural looking.

Really nice colors and textures!! But to my mind, the browns stand out a little too much.  Here is a nice shot of the North Carolina hills in spring, close to what you might be going for. Plenty of greys and shades of green.  I know a lot of oaks hold on to their brown leaves until spring, but I can't recall a hillside setting where they stood out very much.  In any case, very nice work!  How about a long shot of the whole layout, to see this in context?

Yeah, looking at the pics, I can see how there's too much brown and not enough grays.  Unfortunately I got carried away applying colors and didn't leave enough just painted trees. I think about 50% gray would be a good balance.

There are a few redbuds, but they came out a too light pink.  Can't really see them unless you look into the forest from up close.  Have to make an order for foam, or figure out another way to make them.  The dogwoods came out right.


That might be the last photo for awhile, as I seem to have bricked my camera.  I had it connected to my computer when it froze, and now the camera screen is blank when I turn it on.  I might just have to RTFM.

Well, my camera started working again.  The backscreen was blank, took a few shots of nothing in particular, connected to the computer and the screen came back to life.  The pics taken were in large pixels.  Disconnected it, and now it seems to be working.   I wish someone would make a CCD backplate that I could put onto my old OM1 and 2N SLRs.

The left side of the woods and the other tunnel entrance.   I won't put in the other trees to the left, until I get some more work done on that part, the mine details and remote manual turnouts.

That's as wide a shot I can get straight on.  Just a big ole table layout.  Notice the blue styrofoam scenic backdrop on an easel.
