Bachmann, WM northeast steel caboose, item # 16853

I ordered a few new western maryland cars for myself for Christmas and received them this last week. They run well but the Bachmann 40' boxcar seems a bit large and the Bachmann steel caboose looks almost tiny, somewhere between N and Z scale. Maybe it's just me but has anyone else thought this caboose looks kind of "tiny"?

The caboose body and trucks are accurate, but the wheels are 36" diameter and need to be changed to 33".

I really like the lehigh valley and reading caboose I ordered a few months back
IMHO Bachmann has improved alot in recent years

Thanks everyone for the insight. My rolling stock is 'all over the place' going back to 30 years ago and I'm trying to make it homogenous by retrofitting wheels and couplers. Most likely the older rolling stock is what's way off and the new caboose is more accurate.

The real cabooses ARE tiny (compared to most cabooses).

The Bachmann model is the very best plastic NE caboose made.  Comparable with the brass model.

I was thinking of bidding on another brass model a while back (have had one for years).  My son said- what are you doing that for?  You're wasting money.  Get a Bachmann.

I did.  He was right.

The Life Like/Walthers is cr@@p by comparison.
