Sounds like a slow trip. Was having it ripped once at the store an option? Since you are not building furniture with it I suspect it would have been fine. Just something to consider if you need to do this again. Looks like you have a good start. Nothing like a big pile of wood to get motivated!

Best wishes, Dave

Thanks Dave.  These guys are a distributor for contractors and don't offer any cutting services.  Next time (if need to) borrowing a pickup or talk my wife into letting me buy one.  I don't think the latter will fly though.

Plus if you are like me it makes a wonderful air freshener. Ah, the smell of fresh cut lumber in the morning.

Aw yes, had the same feeling while ripping it.

Started cutting some of the pieces to size today.  Pic is after cleanup.  First step I'm taking is putting together the leg assemblies and tomorrow I will start cutting the main modules to size and pre-drilling wire passage holes etc.

Charles

I didn't get as much accomplished yesterday as I wanted but work continues today.  Started drilling 1" wire passage holes in the cross members of the modules.

And this one is for Ian MaMillan...a little bit more of a mess around the work area and on the floor...see, just had to give it some more time.

Charles

Starting the assembly of modules today.  Hopefully no "honey do's" get in the way and I can get them all completed today.

Charles

First module assembled and in place.  I decided I'm going to take a break and slow down.  Once I had it assembled and took the picture I realized I had the frame upside down and had to disassemble it from the legs.  Of course my drill holes for the bolts were off.

The above picture is correct.  Originally the space to the right where no wire holes are I had to the left.  I guess I would only know based on my drawings.  All moot now.

Ah. Yes, the wiring holes facing the wall would be a clue. But you've recovered brilliantly, so I see no need to throttle back...

Does the photo show the "final" version of how you plan on attaching the legs to the frame? It seems like only having one bolt could put quite a bit of stress on the end cross pieces as the legs attempt to rotate or fold up. This is a good looking start!

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Realized that after getting it together and a correction will be made to strengthen it up tomorrow.  Have to go and run some errands for the missus so work will continue tomorrow.
