Found 5 at a hobby shop last week, one has the yellow safety stripes which is too late for me..anyone know if they will come off using a pencil eraser with minimal effort and damage?

Yeah true, but I have a bunch of 1994 era stuff that I bought over the years and I`m "branching out" a bit in my old age... ;)

removal of the yellow safety stripes shouldn't be too difficult. Try a chisel xacto blade? I've found sucess by taken the blade end and lightly scraping the unwanted paint. To do this, hold the xacto blade edge 90 degress to the car and lightly drag it. It may take a couple of passes to remove all of it. With that being said, even if you were to make a small mistake, it could be remedied with weathering.
Just take your time..

I thought of that but I was wondering if anyone had success with any other techniques..

I've had success (at least on Kato cars) by using a nail polish remover and then a pencil eraser.   Rub very lightly.   Rarely mess up the paint underneath.
