First pass scenery has continued down to the small South Woodbury Yard.

I welcomed a couple of new additions to the roundhouse this weekend.

I've been gathering the parts for a Canadian Pacific (or CP Rail - haven't made the final call yet) GP 9 with roof mounted air tanks and steam generator. The Atlas GP w/ TT's has no dynamic brakes and the air tanks are all wrong so it just won't cut it. I have gathered the brass parts and have begun.... This unit is a must for regional passenger trains and inclusion in Geep lash up's for freight....

Here's a few views of the prototypes.... note the piping....







So far I've gotten all the roof appliances on and done a reasonable job of emulatulting the piping....



I also sanded off the cast on pilot MU's and smoothed out the pilot....



Next will be finalizing the road number, bell position and paint scheme... my druthers are to have a CPR script version but it's a paint livery at the outer limits of my painting ability so, If I can find a GP 9 in script from Atlas (I have a few but need another) then I'll take this Action Red and then do a second on the decorated shell.....

Either way, "battle has been joined".........

I added foam, and now am covered in styrofoam dust.  Have to add some more to the large green stuff to the right of the tunnel, as it doesn't look quite right looking at how the terrain is to the left of it (I knew being a geology major would come in handy).  Thinking about putting in a two track tunnel portal, and modeling it as being reduced to a single track. 



Looking at how tight the old main is (to the right of the new one), I can't believe I lived with it for so long.  I need to borrow an 86' hi cube for clearance checks, though I doubt I'll ever run one.

I've been acquiring for the most part of late.  Most recently, I picked up a Northern Light and Power kit.



I'm planning on using three of these as the turbine rooms for the Foxx Valley power plant.

Next up is my MPB54.



This thing sounds like a lawnmower going down the tracks, but it's actually got phenomenal slow speed performance and a not-ludicrus max speed.  Now I just need to land the matching MP54 set or get Con-Cor to release them in plastic.  In addition to these items, I've been picking up as many Bowser hoppers as I can, what with them being out of production and all.

Finally, I've been slowly busting out some of my stuff that's been in storage.  I've run my HHP8 with 8 Kato Am-tubes (with a jerry-rigged connection; I haven't swapped out the rapidos on the HHP8 yet) as well as my Amtrak CA Zephyr and Acela.

No photos but the ballast strip is all down. The helix is done and mainline track is laid from Spruce Creek as far as the west end of Juniata yard...

Slowly but surely it's getting there.

Just finished up a run session and it must be the weekend as the commute pool loco's are out on the main earning extra revenue in the always short of power freight pool. In this case SP's bi-centennial GP40P-2 3197 leads a couple B30-7's on the head of a hotshot piggy back streaking acrost the desert. But it won't get too far as it'll have to be back in San Francisco in time for the Monday morning commute.

Wow!  Those are really thin-wall castings!  Very impressive!

Great looking job Pud!! A couple of things I noticed. Are you going to change the headlight on the long hood
end and you might want to put a thin plate over part of the winterization hatch just as they have.
