I just received the 3 Western Pacific cars...


Very nice...






And a couple comparison shots with both the Atlas car and a Western Pacific MT box (that will probably be replaced by the Atlas car):

that's like my brother and I standing next to each other....you can see that they are related but one is quite a bit taller...

Very, very nice. Really captures the flavor of the period lettering. Looking forward to getting my trio, but, sadly given my modeling era they'll have to be weathered/distressed a bit. Worse things have happened.

That is a beautiful paint scheme, and the details and ride on the Atlas car are very nice.  That comparison shot is a good example of how much progress we have seen in n scale.

 Yes the MTL car is higher . How is the printing so much different ?

The sills are different in your two photos also Richie.

It looks like Atlas gets better marks for the printing though.

That proto shot isn't a match for the Special Run.  The first twenty cars had silver ends and roofs, while the remainder had black ends and roofs.

The sills are different because the Atlas model is a later car than the prototype.
