When I say "hard-wired" I mean that a flexible (stranded and insulated) wire is soldered to the truck's pickups on one end and to the motor on the other end.
Spookshow's website shows several locomotives with this type of electric wiring.
I prefer the currently uses solderless and wire-free electrical systems (like all the current Atlas and Kato locos use).
