I'm a switching nerd, so I'll always be in favor of cutting in another industry.  Perhaps a 30,000 ft. view that lets us see the context all around it.  And maybe some notes about what kind of landscaping you'll be doing.  (i.e. if it's a winery, will you be contracting with MCFunkyMonkey to build you a vineyard?)

Me likey the progress.  And I'm getting the cold weather itch to start building something myself...

Much like many of the BC wineries I used to haunt in Peachland and Kelowna, the winery would be some distance from the vines themselves 9 1/2 km - 2 km... depending on the topography and the access to a road... my idea being that this would be a stand alone.... other local industries could be just as affective..... it's just whether I cut in a siding.... I'd like to do so but don't want to crowd the area....

I am no wine snob, but I do like to drink it. The thought of wine moving in tanks cars seems....a little too industrial for me.
Beer on the other hand was just made to move via rail!

......just glued in the wooden trestle at the back of the module..... did basic scenic blending below....will post photo's after weights come off.... time to lay the main line curve.... haven't laid track in years....nerves are getting the better of me...yesh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The basic scenic cover has been laid under the trestle at the back - details will follow.





A .0010 mm super elevation on the curve....you can hardly see it.



I am looking at following the advice of the a@@hats and adding an industry.... tried Cherry sporting goods.... what do y'all think.....

Well.... thanks loads to the gang here that updated my track laying knowledge about using latex caulk... man, that stuff is easy to use, sets up great and is strong as the day is long..........

Tomorrow morning, after taking the little engineer to school and before a meeting I will "plop" the module on the saw horses ( it weighs less than five pounds and stores in a corner....) and "put power to rails' and run the very first locomotive on the new PVR...( I am now actually sippin a "old number 7" and listening to "one day more" from Les Miz.... kinda works, waiting for the "big moment" tomorrow)

Any more input on the position of that lineside industry.... I'm still "ying-yang" about it... I know it will work but I have to get my "scenic self" around it.....

This morning we put power to main line rails.....





Using "finicky" passenger cars quickly helps locate track issues, and "of course" we found one, a low spot just after the trestle which was bolstered and fixed....





Um.......might wanna level that bridge there Puddy........ 



Now to get the siding roadbed in, adhere the rest of the track, and finish the mountain work....

I spent time at the bench this week getting the two structures that will be "background" noise for the corner moduel ready to be planted. The large hill is home to "Mr. Cherry's" summer home, a delightful little A frame cottage, overlooking his factory and the beautiful scenery...





The kit was easy to build and the only thing I struggled with was 'how much detail"....? The structure will be view from, at best almost 3 feet away and surrounded by trees and rock so I know that a ton of detail isn't needed but the "modeler" in me took over, ergo the small amount of details added.... I like the outhouse.... 

Del Cherry and Son Sporting Goods will now be, once again a line side industry. After listening to the opinions of the local gentry here abouts, I added the spur from under the bridge and re-arranged Cherry to fit.





Once again, the "detail fairy" in me came out - albeit less than on the A frame because the positioning of this industry will preclude seeing much of the railside and the rear...still......

Here they are placed in position on the module....





You can see that much of Cherry will be hidden, as you really are looking at them from the perspective the viewer will, and the foreground hill will be taller and have trees....



It's a bit of a shame the A frame will be so far away but it should, all things being considered be an attention grabber nevertheless.

Nice, my sister has a cabin just like that in BC.  The new division is coming together nicely.
