After becoming sick and tired of the Kato bridge from hell and seeing some pictures of a bridge in Kamloops BC that was similar to the Atlas Code 55 truss bridge, I have constructed one of these for the large truss bridge at the front end of the loop.... fitting will occur Monday...if I can find the Chooch abuttments...... sigh....I have too much junk packed in boxes....grrrrrrrr.......... This will allow me to set the track in.....

Dummy Interchange to CPR Nelson - so you will be interchanging with the Columbia & Western?  SOunds like you will have to negotiate trackage rights with Mark.

Mike, Ship those Atlas machines to Lee and get some Tam Valley servos to throw those TO's. they work much better and will not derail your nice CN locos.

A bit of progress has been made with scenic forms and roadbed...











I'm hoping to finish the base terrain forms tomorrow or Wednesday and then do the minimum plaster cloth work beneith the wooden trestle (it has to be done before planting the trestle as the bridge track is attached to the trestle.....) and then I can adhere the track and feeders.....

I'm toying with the idea of using a solid rock tunnel portal (drilled) on the Kamloops line; older line, might add some variety and it was quite common in BC..... will toy with the idea some more.....

Spent some more time with foam, forming walls for the mountain. I like to get this messy work done before finally adhering track as history has shown me that I mess up the track regardless of the precautions I take; so too with plastering close to track....

I decided to experiment with foam "rip rock"... I used a knife and files to rip styrofoam into rock pieces and then coat them with hydrocal..... this is after the first light coat....



The upper tunnel on the main line... another coat will seal up the holes and then I can use a light sand to rough up the rocks and augment them with plaster cast stone....



Same deal with the lower tunnel to Neilson....

The trestle area has to be plastered before I can place it because it has the track built in....



It's sitting too high but I will "dig it in" later... the dry river bed came out nicely.....
