Info from N Scale Kits dated 5/7/13

<We have just completed the etch tools, and these will be sent for production
very soon. This means that we are schedule for a launch of the FD2 car in
June 2013.  We expect to have the cars available for the NSE Convention in
Milwaukee, and on the N Scale Kits website at the same time.

I will let you know directly when they are launched.

F-39 , FD-2 , 2 Flexi auto carriers ordered , wow , never thought I would have any of these . Have to give the Queen a load . but should it be silly small , or should I super size it .......... I think I have that Alan Curtis big a$$ turbine , solved .

The website states it comes with decals.  I would assume these are PRR only.  I would like to get a car for both the PRR and CR.  It looks like I may have to piece the data for the CR car (with MS 1094 data) like I did for my CR F43 depressed center flatcar. By the way, the road number for CR and PC was 766163.  Thanks.

Yes the decals are the PRR set only I'm afraid. The artwork was done for HO by John Frantz of Mount Vernon Shops who kindly altered them to N Scale and got them printed for us all.

Are those T1 style tender trucks available for sale separately?  I didn't see them listed that way on the
website.   I don't model PRR anymore, but I've got this T1, see, that I built a long time ago, when there were
no trucks like that, and um, yeah... so um...  are those T1 trucks for sale?

Just finish the Bestine soak on the Shapeways FD2 trucks, tried on the FVM wheelsets,  the .540 drops right on through, the .553 just fits but no rolling quality.
Have to order the .563 and .576 wheelsets and see whats happens.

You guys probably know this, but PC modelers are blessed with a very wide array of recent decal releases from Microscale. Although for boxcars mostly, I am sure you can piece something accurate together.

I will try to get one taken. The trucks on the example are painted black so do not show up well in the photos we have used so far, but I will get one side on photo sorted out, in both 'ex-bestined' condition and painted.

Sorry - I forgot about the FVM size issue, documented elsewhere by other truck builders. I understand [but will check] it is the .576 set that was tested. I will get back here with more news. If there continues to be a problem, we can resize the trucks and have a separate file for the FVM wheels - if you advise me which one is the most useful, as I do not really think it sensible to have all four sizes on the Shapeways site.
