Nice effort.. Always nice to have a new Autoparts car..  Body mounts and correct bolsters are cool!

Wake me up when it comes in Conrail... (I'd take an NYC or PC w/o roofwalks too)

If the tooling is flexable for doors.. I'll be excited if this comes out!!!

Good Job Micro Trains!! ~Ian

You already have it Ian.  That's the Atlas ACF model.  It's too bad they didn't do the plug version though.  I suppose very few roads had them.

Is that a new coupler? I don't recall seeing that offset before on a MTL coupler (or am I just not paying enough attention). :?

It appears to be the #1019 coupler (used on auto racks and TOFCs) inside the #1016 coupler box.

Sirenwerks:  True, the panels are different, but the basic car, including the truck centers, is the same.  The GN was always a little odd in their boxcar designs, as shown by their preference for 12-panel sides on 40' cars, instead of the more common 10-panel versions.

Would be great if this coupler version would be also available separately.  And the new truck, too.
I could use also a 100-ton truck with short shank couplers, e.g. for tank cars.

Thanks for the picture of the ACF car.  I have just now converted my single specimen to BLMA 100-trucks and MTL 1015 couplers.  Its ride height is now exactly as shown on the picture.

It is available.  You just have to purchase #1019 couplers and #1015/1016 parts to assemble them.  Just as you can put #2004 knuckles in #1015 coupler boxes to achieve the same effect with a standard-length coupler shaft.

Never even saw it Robb...yes; it would be nice if they fixed that but as I said, I never even saw that. My detail eye is satisfied with the door, but if they could fix that it would be a "beauty".... thanks for clarifying !

No argument there, I'm just more persnickety about Hill Line prototypes.  I heard once the preference for 12 panel was because the smaller panels held up better in grain service, they bowed less.  Plus, both GN and NP toyed with boxcar design, especially later in their history; including early outside brace modern cars and waffle sides, and made these in house.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

It appears that N&W B19 (1963) and B19a (1965) may match the MTL car:

B19: http://www.nwhs.org/archivesdb/detail2.php?ID=19530

In 1997: http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nw/nw050511aga.jpg

And the NKP cars too I guess.

Mark

-In addition to N&W bought cars, apparently Wabash (N&W 350075-350099 nee WAB 50075-50099) and NKP (N&W 283000-283033 nee NKP 83000-83033)  had nearly identical cars (saw this reference in my N&W Color Guide To Freight and Passenger Equipment by Jim Nichols).

GBW 200 to 209 were 60' XAP boxcars built by Greenville 9/1963.  They appear to be a match for the Micro Trains model.

Like that car also.  Two questions - when were they built and what did GB&W usually in them?

"GBW 200 to 209 were 60' XAP boxcars built by Greenville 9/1963."

As for what they used them for, ???  Given the XAP type, my guess would be auto parts, but many roads used very similar cars for other things.
