Atlas can do runs of this one forever.  So many choices.  I'm in for several when they do the roadnames I like.  And I do think they should do at least a couple of roads that are still using them today.  Again, great choice.  As Ron White would say "It's gonna be a great day Tater", will all the new announcements being made.  Now to justifiy the money.

Also, personally, I can't wait to see these in various shortline guises.

I love that Atlas does that type of thing.

I'll pick up at least one, it would be perfect for my freelanced shortline

SP please, as many paint variations as possible, plus a NMRA 6 pin decoder, don't have to wait and pay the premium for a proprietary decoder, good job Atlas!!!

I'll guess the first run will be:

ATSF
BNSF
SP
UP

;)

No, that would be Kato, not Atlas!!!

Grand Slam!!!

"With any luck, they'll do the S4 as well."

I wonder if the AAR-A sideframes from the VO might be of use in doing an S4?

The only cab ride I ever had. A D&H S-2 puttering around Oneonta yard.  On the other hand, two local tourist roads have S-4's I have ridden behind. Decisions, decisions. BTW, congratulations on your first locomotive in a long time. Nice choice. Hope it is successful.

I thought there was something to that comment made by Paul yesterday on the S4 thread.

This is cool news, thanks for coming through on this one, all you Atlas folk.
I’m not here to argue

Not needed for my roster, but a very significant announcement in two respects:

1.  One of the most often-requested locomotives to be done, with many paint schemes possible.

2.  The first new locomotive from Atlas since the upheaval in China, which suggests that significant progress in re-establishing manufacturing sources has been made.

Congratulations Atlas on a very important announcement, and for all the hard work and perserverance over the past several years which has made a new locomotive possible.

Fantastic announcement, thanks Atlas! I've been waiting a long time for these and I shall be buying a bunch as the various roads I collect appear.

Cheers,

Kev

OMG.

I have spent a large deal of effort on scratch building early ALCO diesels in N Scale. I can't wait, it can go along with my S1, and in progress HH600.

Yeah!
