I know the TrainWorx car's a Pullman-Standard design and I'm pretty sure the photo's of an ACF car, but an auto rack for the 85' TrainWorx car would be sweet, and provide some variety to the rather generic MTL cars in the "early autrack" department.  Anyone else interested?  Bob?

I would definatley be interested we badly need partially enclosed autoracks and a good open autorack. For the partially enclosed K&S metals aluminum siding would work for panels.

Great idea... I'd be in, too. The upcoming Atlas 89' flat is another possibility.

Why not do some hunting to see if the F-85-B (the Trailer Train class designation of the TrainWorx model) was ever used for auto-rack service?  Then a fully prototypical model could be created.

Look at all them early 60's Ford Falcons. 2 doors, 4 doors, & wagons. Sure wish someone would do some early/mid 60's 4 door sedans and wagons. (Ya listenin', Atlas?)

From what I've seen, 85' cars didn't last very long once 89' cars became standard as they could hold an additional car per level in any cases.  Many racks were removed and stretched 4' and put onto new cars.

I would certainly be interested in any research that anyone else has done.

Hmmm, shall I start my research with the fact that Trailer Train never classified TrainWorx's model as the F-85B? TTX did, however, classify the Pullman-Standard prototype that Trainworx used as the basis for its model as the F-85B.   

Funnily, I tried to avert such persnicketiness by identifying the manufacturer differences in my original message; but apparently we're having none of that today.

No worries.  Just an observation that there is most likely photographic evidence of the Trainworx pre-designated F-85B flats in rack service, and the chances of a potential N scale replica would be increased if that data were unearthed.

I just might have a picture of half of a car taken at an angle it is in the december 1962 Trains magazine page 20 which featured an article on auto traffic. I will have to scan it as soon as my scanner is up.

Here is a good autorack flat we need the F-89A they mark it here as an 85' but I'm sure they 89'

If it's an F89 it should be 89'...
