I've been working on a 7' foot stretch of scenery; painted the river (still need to pour the "water") and worked on some WS trees recycled from my previous layout.  I added some gray paint to the trunks, which makes the bark detail stand out better.  Spent 3 hours today making "puff-ball" trees, this relatively small section of layout scarfed 250 puff balls!

Once the glue is thoroughly dry I'll add the Realistic Water and can then permanently place the bridge.  Progress, albeit slow...

Ian,
IKEA, approx. $12-15 each. These are LED "bookcase" type lights; these come already mounted on a clamp that I simply clamped onto a 1x2.

I think I might want to add one more to each section to help eliminate any potential of shadows on the mainline.

Willmodels International cab with a CMW White 3000 dump bed.

CG N Scale "Lull" lift

Still working on this one. I'm not very happy with the length (which explains the added drop axle). I need to replace the herpa wheels but Atlas is sold out of Ford tractor wheels.

I added guardrails and diamond rails to this pair of scratchbuilt c55 crossings.

That is a hell of a lot of excellent work is a small area . I envy the folks that can produce custom special turnouts and the like .

Track is easy. Now building a steamer in N, that seems like a tough a assignment to me.

Thanks for the kind words.

A southbound Z train grinds uphill past Bealville...

Great shot Jim, really adds some 'weight' to the feeling.

Hey,

For those of you who know me or are MNSE club members.  You better be sitting down for this…   :o

Nice work Ron.  If you keep it up, I will have to hire you to help out on my layout.

Finally installed some trees and bushes on the layout.  Spent most of the weekend on this and I haven't even put a dent on what needs to be done.  I'm thinking maybe I should have chosen the rockies or maybe someplace out west that has less trees than the mid-atlantic side of the country.  I kid.  It is alot of work but I do enjoy the results so far.  The pictures really don't show all the little details that are seen with the naked eye.  Maybe its time to invest in a new camera. :)
