More limited layout time. Never the less, I got a little more "steel" work done for the famous Neenah Foundry. I'm kinda just visualizing things here. This project has been on the back burner a while. I realize that a Traincat product would look much better here. I may invest in his product when things are back up to normal. But for now...



















Oh, and a spot of contruction adhesive under this roadway. Now, its time for some railings and gravel.











Maybe a bit more work this weekend if I can fight off this cold. Thanks kids.

While feeling generally terrible this week, I would just spend a minute or two glaring at a scene like this, then collapse again.

I keep coming back to look at the foundry.  It really is taking me back to Neenah.  I think the representation is shaping up remarkably well.

It should be known that the graphics in the above billboard are his own work. He has a large hand in making the above one of the layout's signature and establishing scenes. I owe him a lot. Thanks Moose. Good times indeed.

So anyway,

I put in a bit more time on the overhead crane and the spur tracks for Neenah Foundry et. al. I'm trying to follow the prototype here. There is (or perhaps was by now) a crane like this next to the mainline. I have pictures of scrap gondolas being unloaded here. With all the rural scenery I've done on this layout, it seems strange to have so much industry, but thats Neenah. The girders are just set in place here to visualize things. The scraps of track lying around are from some construction. It felt good to be working with Atlas code 55 again. Its practice for an upcoming weekend project.















Another project (among hundreds  ) is this scene on which I demonstrated the installation of a BLMA etched - metal crossing. This is just a mock up too see how things might look. A lot to be done here. I'm just getting ideas for now.





















I was thinking of some forced perspective around here to represent the former CNW mainline. By the "WC era" this mainline was reduced to serve some local industries. Its only an idea, and this is just a mock up for visualization.




















As a quick project, I decided to highlight the WC logo displayed above the benchwork. I think its an improvement.

I like how the to foundry is coming along.  If it were me I'd leave the grade crossing alone - it looks really good. Are you using z scale equipment for your forced perspective?
