Sorry if I missed it in this lengthy thread, but I'd love to see a track diagram of this layout if you have one.

My apologies. Still no layout diagram, must put that on the list... :scared:

In other news, nearly out of breath from all the fencing last night at Torborg's lumber. Now to add some details, weathering (I think even the fence could use some weathering), background items, etc...

I wonder if this sign actually works?!?

It'll really look great when the new car shine is gone from the paved area.
One suggestion though, I would pave the area in front of the office and put in some parking lot bumpers.  It looks like the vehicles were airlifted in.  :D

Agreed! I plan to dirty up the paved lot after I get some lines down. Everything in that scene needs weathering. As to the employees parking in the lot, they have a great boss. The new parking lot  is under construction. The real problem is that with the gate facing the front door, I did not leave enough room for vehicles. But then again, I am not modeling a proper business. I am more interested in what is facing the tracks.

I like it alot. All of the rail served lumber yard we serve on this end of the railroad have employee parking away from the yard except one. Do you plan on having a access road or area for the trucks to come in and be loaded and unloaded? I like how you have the gate to get to the end of the track. Reminds me of one near my house I serve that has a building at the end of the track. The track is on a major grade going in there. A few winters ago a crew was shoving in there and there was deep snow, the train got away from them and went into the building, taking out propane tanks and forklifts, including the building lol. Morons rebuilt it in the same place.

Liked the story Brian. I love to model silly details like the end of track "poking out" from the fence.

Got to thinking about semi trucks in the yard AFTER I had it all filled with stuff! RATS!!!!! I might just stick one in there anyways. In my time as a driver however, I saw lots of places though that were NEVER intended for semis. So I guess cramped quarters would be prototypical.

Thank you sirs. I do appreciate the feedback - positive or negative. I don't think my modeling is all that great. I'm just another "good enough" modeler. I think I'm kind of sophomoric at best. I am always concerned that I have slipped into a comfort zone and will not improve any. I try to keep up on current ideas and techniques for scenery. But at least I try to get things to a certain level.

Anywho, as Bartles and James used to say "We thank you for your support."
