Looks like Exactrail is doing the right thing with the SOU wafflesides -  the two SOU billboard schemes, the intermediate billboard scheme (which I don't think was done in HO) as well as NS and the second owners  (plus CSXT)

Just saw 1/2 dozen or so waffles on the Southern Green Dot scheme (heavily Tomm Mann'ed) tonight at softball.  EXR may well have some business from me.

I don't know but from what I can tell those atlas lights look like the model power lights, thick bases and all. Maybe those are just to hold the pole in place and are not part of the light itself. OTOH, the leds are a nice touch.
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

The streetlights are not the Model Power lights.  The design is a threaded tube with an LED in the base and fiber optics to get the light to the output.  To install, you drill a hole in the table top - if it isn't perpendicular, don't worry, the design is self leveling up to about 10 degrees.  Install the rod and snug up with a nut.  The light posts are made of brass and insert into the rod.  Eventually we will sell the light posts separately so you can easily change eras or styles.  These lights are also perfect for modules as you can remove them for shipping to avoid damage, and reinstall them in a matter of minutes.  As an added benefit, the LEDs will provide you with built in under layout lighting.

@Paul Graf - Atlas,
How are these street light connected to a power source?
That is the short coming of older version, i.e Mod/Pow.
Thanks.

So far both pictures of the display I have seen have been a bit fuzzy. Is there a shepherds crook style station light in the line up?

I need about 20-30 of these eventually and was dreading building them. Incidentally, I was tossing between Nano LED or fiber optics myself in the build. The idea of removable, replaceable is great.

If these make it to HO I know somebody that could use them. Our shop sells about 20-30 Model Power lights a year to the Cincinnati Museum Center because workers step on them while cleaning and working on their City in Motion display. It would be much easier for them to not have to rewire them each time one get's broken.

So you're saying we're all working in the dark????   :face palm:  Great engineering though - makes street lights possible and simple enough Lee can install them.  Could you or Cory perhaps run another threat with more details, etc?  And Any plans to do what I'd call a modern highway light?  You know, the big boys out on the interstate?

I'd like to thank the folks from Railwire that attended the show in Medford this past weekend.  Things moved fast and were a bit tight, but it was great to meet everyone and share some good times.  I only get to attend these things when they are in my back yard, and I was pretty impressed with how things ran.  We attempted to get some of the local N scalers to show their layouts this year but no takers.  Our Z Club along with some good friends in the Bay area and Portland and Washington got together and assembled one of the larger layouts we have shown since Sacramento NTS last year.  The local press covered the event and if you didn't know any better it sounded like it was a Z convention...maybe next time the local N scale groups will be encouraged to attend  :D

Isn't there a "manufacturer's breakfast" at this event in which future plans are revealed?

Did this occur or is there just a consensus that there is no future?  :facepalm:

As everyone left the convention MIB Will Smith took their cameras and did the light flashy thing to remove their memories.

This is the first one I attended as a Civilian, but did not see a Manufacturers Breakfast at all.  Most of the day trips were very long drives away so I suspect model train events were compressed.  Would have been nice to have the show and tell.

Looks like a cool show and I'm sure we'll hear more as time goes on...  Would love to know if Kato confirms the FEF and Business Car Train?
