Man, it's hard being a RI fan sometimes.

A couple notes:

622 was actually a DL107 which was scrapped in 1963 (but out of service up to a year previous).  AFAIK the 622 was modified from it's original appearance before it ever got this paint scheme (sometime before 1958) which included it's side windows getting replaced by stainless grills.

As for the model, there is no lower headlight (if you're expecting one).

I'd be in for one except I already have the DL109 to re-engine.

The earliest unit I can find with this scheme is an E7 in 1956.  So this unit may have been painted '56-'58 and lasted until 1962.

It looks like the new Rock Island paint scheme is a 2c(2) in this website's terminology - http://www.rockisl.com/PaintSchemes/Type2/Type2.htm. Which, I guess, would be put it some time after this 2c(1) looking photo (assuming Life-Like's paint scheme is accurate) -

As for when that photo was taken...? The web photo says it's 01/01/60 in Fort Worth, but the same picture appears in Rock Island Color Pictorial Volume 1 and says 07/01/58 in Council Bluffs  :?

Wish they would do the NH The Cranberry paint scheme.  Always thought this was one of the best looking diesel paint schemes ever and I would buy one even though I don't model NH.

Also for you Milwaukee fans, I recently saw a photo of a DL-109 modified with what looks like an EMD nose.  Would be an interesting bash to do.
