Doorless auto rack decorated for Rio-Grande.  Simple removal of doors, painting the interior white, changing the reporting marks to TTNX and an appropriate car number, and beefing-up the TRAILER TRAIN markings with MicroScale decals.

Richie, as always, I'm loving the steam!

I have no photos to show on my end. I've been redrafting a plan for my 4x8 AGAIN, though each time I'm a little more happy with it. The most recent plan should look a little more "natural" in terms of how the railroad interacts with the scenery. I'm also starting work at a layout building company on Wednesday, which should hopefully fund the additional turnouts needed.

I love the autoracks bb.
Saturday i'm expecting a ton of Pikestuff buildings and enough Kato track to build the Manning Oaks layout.

That steamer is beautiful Richie...I can't wait to see it painted.

This week I spent my hobby time converting hexagonal water tanks into octagonal ones (that's for you Greg :) ).  Three for Lafferty, Coryell and Farron made up from Kanamodel kits.  They were a lot of work! 

The snow on the Farron tank still needs work and they all still need to be "planted" but hopefully the photos give you the gist of the scenes.

Very nice work on the octagonal tanks, Mark.  I am glad you are firmly ensconced in the diesel era becuase I sure wouldn't want to be the engineer on a steam locomotive having just completed the gruelling climb up Farron Hill and seeing the ball right down at the peak of the roof indicating that the tank was empty!!!  The train order boards look great as well!

I spent part of the past week assembling Micro-Trains #1025 body mount couplers and installing them on 56 Atlas/assorted brand 40' gondolas. I was ready for the rubber room after that.

FWIW, I just ordered 10 BLMA 52' gondolas (at a significant discount) from MB Klein. Made me wonder, is anything wrong with these gondolas that I should be aware of?

Depending upon the radius of your pike the trucks may not swing far enough due to the coupler box.

Also the narrow-treaded wheels the gons come with may prove to be problematic.  I ended up replacing mine with MT lo-pros.

The City of Los Angeles Dome-Lounge-Observation didn't last long as built. They were rebuilt for mid-train Dome-Lounge service and I modified a spare Kato car to reflect these changes.

This PRR X58 has survived Penn Central into Conrail is fairly good shape.
