Kato Store in Tokyo

So I'm TDY to Yokota for the day, well we're laying over in Tokyo, and I have the day to myself.

Looking at Google maps, looks like about an hour and half to travel from the base to the store. Wondering if anyone here has ever been to the Kato store while in Tokyo? And if so, is it a worthwhile trip?

I guess if nothing else, be a cool I've been to the Kato store story.

Link to the Kato site for those that haven't seen the store, http://www.katomodels.com/shop/hctokyo_e.shtml

Not sure if this is the right forum for this topic, feel free to move if required.

It's well worth the trip, just don't expect any deals because of the crappy exchange rate.  They are a full MSRP store with a few minor things thrown in the clearance bin (mostly track when we were there).  That still didn't stop me from buying one of the JR sets.  :o

Here's photos from my trip there in 2008.  It's an easy walk from the train station, ~5-10 minutes if I remember correctly.  You'll walk through a residential neighborhood and you'll swear there is no way the Kato shop is back there...just follow the map...  ;)

Thanks for bringing back some good memories...  :D

That's what I figured, figured if nothing else, I can say I've been there.  Noticed the exchange rate is real bad, got 5000 Yen yesterday, came out to ~$65, last time I was in Japan it was closer to $52 for 5000 yen.
