Motivation

OK guys and gals. I need some motivation. I have not really done anything since December. The HO layout is pretty much torn down and I have only been working on the N scale layout. I know I should have been working on it over the winter, but the summer when it is hot I will retreat down to the basement where its cool and no humidity. Give some motivation, show me pictures, anything. Playing with the 1:1 trains all day does not help, coming off a 2 week vacation gave me some much needed rest. Motivate away!

Like you said:  "the basement is cool and no humidity."  Just get yourself a flat screen TV, a reefer and some beer and you're all set.  That way you can relax in the same place as the layout.  Since there is nothing on TV during the summer except baseball, and baseball has SO MUCH action, you should get bored pretty quick and just HAVE to do SOMETHING on that layout of yours.

Just a thought.... I mean, let's not over-think this.

I find this guys B&M and MEC picture from the 1960s/1970s are awesome. I've spent hours browsing through them(a set of them also makes a good screensaver).

I tend to get motivated to do something just by going out trackside and seeing new stuff I want to do and then i typically end up home scratchbuilding for the next month soon after.  IF i had a basement i probably wouldnt leave there lol  No humidity and cool is how it should be!

I have a Sig P229 and a Springfield XD with hydrashock that can provide plenty of motivation!

Only SIG I own is a 220. I could just sell that and buy a completed layout with the money.

2 out of 3 could be fixed by convincing your wife that breastfeeding is better for the babies in the first year.  That should save you some time, as it's not something you could do.

Just the first year?

Wasn't there an article and pic in Time magazine that stated breastfeeding is good until the kid is 4 or 5 years-old? 

One could build a basement empire in that length of time.

I'm at the other end of that spectrum...an 18 y/o that graduates tomorrow night but doesn't have a drivers license and a bunch of places she needs to be taken to, plus a 9 y/o that has a whole OTHER list of places to be.

She's not producing enough for twins.  So she pumps, and we have to supplement with formula.  Trust me, this was not in her grand plan for feeding.

Mine are 12 and 14, almost 13 and 15. In the fall my oldest takes Drivers education. I can say it deosn't matter boy or girl middle school is all about personal drama. Whole different world of stress from diapers and bottle feeding. You still don't get to sleep, one of them can end up out until 10pm or later then the other has to be somewhere at 5:45am. Although to be honest I would rather continue to deal withthis then go back to the beginning again.
