Manufacturing overseas can be difficult and dynamic at best.  The vast majority of the market doesn't understand the logistics involved to produce a single model, let alone pallets and containers of product. 

Manufacturing schedules shift based on a huge number of factors, but rest assured, you will get your Brown F89-J's in due time.  The sky is not falling...

It's given me a chance to sell off some older models on the roster plus work a little OT to fund the new stuff coming in.

When I started the layout in '83, there was a big question in my mind if ANYBODY was ever going to make decent piggyback flats.   There were only 50' flatcars with dinky 25' trailers.   The 'Rapido' ones hadn't been available for years.  NOTHING really available.

I'd taken three Minitrix container flats and put decks on them.  Made hitches.  It worked...sorta....they were light.  Got Walthers TTX decals.  I would need another dozen or so.   Just a ton of work, too high, marginal performance.  MT changed the game, finally, and now this.

So now I've got a wild collection of MT, Con-Cor (Rapido), N Scale Kits (Allan Curtis), a TrainWorx, a couple surviving Trix container flats... and can't believe the way this has evolved.  Next to hit the trade-out line will be the old cast metal Con-Cor Rapido flats that I'd stripped and repainted.

I've got mine or order.  And the Atlas stuff is still out there somewhere, probably a layer under Craigs in a container.

And Trainworx making the ATSF side-door trailers correct for the era?  Unbelievable.

I will fourth a couple of these comments. One is that I am glad they were delayed as I was able to up my order with my vendor. Another is that they are producing them at all. I remember as a kid the disappointment in seeing large chunks of trains being made up of TOFC as to me it wasn't as interesting as regular freight cars. But now modeling that period of time when I was watching this stuff for real as a kid, I need that TOFC equipment. Funny how that works out.

The "stickiest" memories of my '60s-'70s railfanning are the TOFC expediters - UP's VAN, Santa Fe's Super-C, SP's Blue Streak Merchandise - the full-throttle, passenger-speed-limit trains that would thunder through wherever you were at that moment, taking your breath away. Four Centennials on the point of a 30-car VAN pounding through the double-superelevated S-curve at Pomona is forever seared in my mind, and is one of the scenes planned for my layout.

Up to the past year I have been stymied in recreating these trains. I had been accumulating MTL cars like a madman, but when Craig and then Pat announced theirs I couldn't reach for my wallet fast enough.

Both your brown and early yellow TT flats are sorely needed to make my Trailvan service a little more realistic:
