Can anyone confirm that NS currently has some of these? I could have sworn I saw two PS-4000 of these about 2 weeks ago railfanning.

This new run will include ... our new, wider tread 36" metal wheels.

Craig, what is the plan going forward with wheels?  Will future rolling stock releases use the wider wheels?  How about the trucks?  I'm not sure if I've seen the new wheels in person, but I've been happy with the original ones.

Where was great western Malting located & where did they ship to? I'm in for some Milwaukee's (of course!) andy maybe a CGW & Wabash. 

Don't mind Mjaco, he's just a Skibs wanna be!   (guess I wish I could model that well, too!)

Was wondering the same thing....  Need to do some research - I seem to recall the answer was no, though...

You may have seen ex SOU HSC25's which are similar but have evenly spaced ribs across the entire car - used for Kaolin service.

I haven't found any matching cars for these in service on NS - except for the somewhat different AOCX alumina ore cars.  They are black/brown unpainted aluminum with large black patches.  I sent info on these to Highball Decals and he said he would do them at some time in the future - but this was over a year ago.

Nice to know about the wheels with the wider-tread being used.  That will eliminate tracking issues.

The model does look good in NKP black.

Clean for New Haven era or dirty for the Conrail era BB?

There are some good examples of the weathered NKP cars on fallenflags in NH during the 80s.

I don't model NH in its decline during the 1960s, so it would have to be early Conrail if I got one.  But I already have an ACL and SP, so I'm probably done with CD-4000s

I have them as having 15... NP 75650-75664 (100 tons, gravity-pneumatic outlets?) to BN 480010-480024... any info you can give on the others would be cool.

You may be right.  I didn't go to great lengths to research it, just this, which could be a typo.

If you open the document, it does appear likely that the number at the top end is 75664.

I looked back @ my videos, and you're right. It was the HSC25s, i just saw the cu ft on the car when it was rolling by...
