   Blast the horn! We’re celebrating a BIG event in our manufacturing transition.

    The tooling from our supplier who closed in January has been moved to the factory that produces many of our Genesis models. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be evaluating the tooling and taking the steps necessary to begin production. Although reacquiring our tooling is a major step, we still have a-lot to accomplish before we begin projecting ETAs.

    We truly appreciate your support and patience. We look forward to sharing more about our progress in the near future.

If you are hoping that happens, I would suggest hoping you win the big lottery jackpot happening because you have a better chance of that happening than Athearn doing the SD40-2 in N scale like they have in HO. We'll be AWFULLY lucky to get any new N scale tooling from them anytime in the forseeable future.

I agree..Athearn will more then likely will have limited reruns what they have in N and spend their tooling dollars on new HO..

I understand once RTR production gets back on track they have several new models lined up and IIRC another upgrade of one of their RTR locomotive into their Genesis line-like they did with the RTR GP38-2.

Athearn like Walthers is a HO company and always has been.There's no changing that.
