Sir, this is a family establishment. Shame on you for posting such explicit pornography.

That last step looks like a doozy though.  Hope the brakes hold!  :scared:

You have a truly inspirational layout. I have been following your Adventures in Railroading (lkorailroad.com ) for at least a year.  I plan on attempting bench work and wiring on my own layout similar to yours.  I doubt my own efforts will match yours but I love the idea of NOT wiring underneath the layout but on top of a work bench instead.  The helix is looking every bit as exceptional as the rest of your amazing work.

Forget the helix (actually it's amazing) but that's the neatest, most organized workshop, I have ever seen!   :o

I couldn't leave well enough alone. My helix needs a train location detection system.

After some fussing I believe I have come up with a home brew solution.

Got the boards built for the helix location detector. Built six of these. Each has 10 sensor circuits. Also made some mounts to hold them to the helix uprights.

Such consistently impressive work.  If I recall correctly, you were never an electronics guy by trade, but you’ve sure become proficient at it through desire, ambition and persistence.  Waiting for your progress reports is like awaiting the next season of a hit series on Netflix!

Helix is finished. Train locator system is finished. Installing on the layout today. There are a number of posts on the LKO blog if you want the details and play-by-play action of the build. http://www.lkorailroad.com/
