The year 2013 is the City of Banning's centennial. The railroad was a significant part of the early development of the Banning-Beaumont area. A group of Banning residents and other interested persons, including a City Council member, is exploring the possibility of staging a train festival in 2013 to celebrate the city’s centennial and the area’s railroad heritage.
The festival may include exhibits, presentations on historical and contemporary railroad subjects, operating model railroads, a model railroad layout tour, prototype equipment displays, a model contest, entertainment, food booths, book signings, vintage photo displays, railroad art, and anything else that would enhance the festival experience.
No dates have been selected for the festival as of this writing.
