Pretty good looking lot.

Maybe this has been noted before, but will these all be GEVO's?  If so, maybe Kato or FVM will be motivated to tool a high headlight model for these.  That would be a boon for NS modelers.

The press releases have said it's a mixture of 10 EMD SD70ACe and 8 GE ES44AC.  The GE's are to be painted in NS's shops at Altoona and Chattanooga, which may have influenced the road choices for the GE units.  The EMD's will be painted by Progress Rail in Muncie, IN

GE:
    Central of Georgia Railway
    Conrail
    Interstate Railroad
    Lehigh Valley Railroad
Nickel Plate Road (New York, Chicago and St. Louis RailroadNew York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad)
    Norfolk & Western Railway
    Pennsylvania Railroad
    Southern Railway

EMD:
    Central Railroad of New Jersey
    Delaware, Lackawanna and Western
    Erie Railroad
    Illinois Terminal Railroad
    New York Central Railroad
    Norfolk Southern Railway
    Reading Company
    Savannah & Atlanta Railway
    Virginian Railway
    Wabash Railroad

Yeah, It would be nice if it would cause some closer to NS prototype cabs to be tooled.

Lifted from Railroad.net's NS forum

The SD70ACe heritage units will be a block numbered 1065-1074.  Currently scheduled for delivery in April and May, the paint schemes have not been assigned to specific numbers as of yet.

The GEVO heritage units are currently being delivered to NS and several are in the paint shop or waiting in line.  So far they are:

8098 currently being painted in Altoona as Conrail heritage unit
8099 currently being painted in Chattanooga as Southern heritage unit

8100 at Altoona awaiting Norfolk & Western heritage paint
8101 at Chattanooga awaiting Central of Georgia heritage paint

8102-8105 not yet delivered, to become heritage units

I wonder, assuming the NS one is done in time, how hard it would be to get Norfolk Southern to send the NSRY unit to Norfolk for the NSHS's meeting there at the end of April

Eastern Rail News is reporting that NS has added the PC unit back onto the list, and is considering re-adding the TAG unit.

Yep... an 8000 series six-axle GE in blue is eight shades of blah... there's still hope though...

Well NW 8100 arrived at the paint shops in Altoona today. Took them 5 days to do CR 8098.

I'm still not thrilled with the Pennsy scheme.  It's the passenger sharknose scheme.  Would prefer just a DGLE with "PENNSYLVANIA" in Clarendon and a keystone on the nose.  Maybe a fake Trainphone?

Me gusta!

I'd gusta more if they painted the entire fleet this way.

Hey, DKS, how about a "Me gusta" emoticon?
