Even the Prototype Must Like to Mix it Up Every Now and Then

I know I get a little bored running the same rolling stock all of the time.  That's usually when I would pull something out of storage that is from a different road or a different era to ease the doldrums.  So, check this out!  It will give Dave Vollmer a legitimate excuse to run something other than PRR in the 1950s or Conrail in the 1980s on his Juniata Division.  I think the CRHS goons will recognize this spot with blindfolds on, but the power on this train at this location came as a surprise to me.  Oh, and Lee's gonna hate it.

Yeah, but I've got to wonder what this "The CSX merger is imminent" train is doing in Enola.

Is that third unit a Family Lines?

Actually, it's a Seaboard System locomotive, Bob.  This picture is a great precursor of the CSX merger that would occur in the next year or so.

EDIT:  Now that I have looked at the photo again, I'm not so sure that the date is right.  It's definitely Enola, but the first unit looks like it's been renumbered for the CSX merger, which, I believe, wouldn't happen until at least 1986.  I guess the April 1st date should have given that away.  :D  My guess is that this photo is from 1986 or 1987.
