If for some reason I run into him again at one of the local shows, I'll bring it up again and ask what sort of minimum he would need.

Was the N scale car he did a PRR coil car?

Jason

Yes. And I know several people who would want that kit back. Maybe we could do another TRW group buy.

I was going to lead the conversation down that path the last time, basically suggesting that there were avenues that could make for a more successful model.  IIRC, the coil car had a small ad in N scale magazine.  Not being a PRR modeler, I don't remember seeing it anywhere else.

He was really not interested.

Yeah he wasn't. I believe our last group buy pretty much was all he made. I wonder if he would be interested in selling the molds as I would not mind making castings.

From what I can tell, there is one PD3000 ready to go. I am pretty sure there is at least one PD 5125 in que as well, possibly even two. All models were openly talked about on here by reps from their respective manufacturers. It will be very, VERY nice to have both models available.

For the PD3K, I would like 6-7. For the PD5125, I would easily purchase 10-12 depending on paint scheme (Wonderbread, ADM, Cargill etc.)

It was PRR.  If he picked a popular western road for a prototype it would have sold.   :ashat:

There is truth to that, I mean, how many of us would get a PC&F 50' box with 16' plug door? They would sell east and west.

PC&F 50' box with 16' plug door?

Ten
or at least all available road numbers appropriate for the 1985 era.  Probably a few outside era too.  Same goes for the assorted other fifty foot PC&F door configurations, all numbers and maybe a few duplicates every run for years to come...
