Did the SOO have any 50's FMC boxcars....? I mean, it's possible, but I've not run across any photo's of FMC's....or maybe I'm confusing the FMC cars - funny ends, flat ribs - right ? MDC made a model of them.... I'm sure someone out there knows....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Thanks Mike; I didn't think they did. Athearn made a SOO 50' FMC model as well some time ago and I had the ol "Spockian eyebrow" when I saw that....oh well.............at least MT's will be pretty and a good weathering candidate !

If you are looking for a proper SOO boxcar of that ilk, grab an FVM SOO boxcar.  8)

I think the FVM car is the only prototypically correct car for the Soo Line 50' plug door cars of that era.  In a way, it was that road's X58.

Doe the PRR parlor have a new name?  It's the only thing of interest to me.

It has a number only, as was the case with the first one.

Bob & Brian,

The first release of the MTL PRR parlor car had a number and name "Blue Stone".  The new release is a paired window coach according to the info on BLW and has an MTL part number that fits in the paired window coach series of part numbers.

The PRR coach looks pretty good!  It would need a truck swap-out but the rest looks pretty close.  I have a true P70 from Lima yet to paint and detail, but it looks kinda crude compared to the rest of my MTL fleet.  Might be worth attempting to make a P70 out of this new car.
