The "new" look is not on the layout, but in the natural daylight bulbs. They use only 15W, so I now have 10 cannisters on the track (pun intended) lights.

I wonder where you got the decals for those RDC's... ;)

Roger,
I think that's the first time I've seen your layout in its entirety, and in the context of the room.  Looks like a fun rig to run.

Also good to see you let a band of mad spiders do your wiring too!!

Wow, how many cars do you have on the sidings, I can't count that high?
Your layout looks beautiful, very well done!

Okay, credit to you for the great Baltimore and Ohio decals on the RDC's
Note how I shorted one set for the short unit.
Wiring courtesy of pinot noir!
Unfortunately, this is not my dream layout. It is the night mare after we moved and I lost that large basement space.

Changing the light bulbs and adding a few more cans to the track certainly enhanced the static
grasses.

Yes, number 2 project is to get that wiring mess organized!  :)

I miss the long trains and destination oriented operations of my last layout (it had 100 feet of track between the two major towns) but this one has been fun to operate.  I haven't settled on a scheme yet but like his method.  I am going to use cassettes and your idea of staged switch lists.  Each cassette could be used in the same order with an assigned switchlist...hmmm.  Easier than dealing with cards.

Yea, I've always had some kind of a loop and already miss sitting back and watching trains, but being forced to interact with them does have it's fun too. And it fits the space, budget, and time I have to devote right now. Initially I'll use Byron's cassettes and switchlist idea too, sounds simple enough to setup and maintain. I'd like to get my hands on Byron's article about it in the Layout Design Journal but I don't know how to get one.

If you need a specific issue, there's a synopsis of each on the website.
Or, come on down to the LDSIG meet at the end of January in Mt. View, CA, and they usually have issues available there.

Or, once there, you could talk to Byron himself ;)
