Bachman NE Caboose

Saw and purchased one last eve. Half the price of the Walther's one.

Glazed window, body mounted, looks like MT couplers, metal wheels, ladders and handrails painted- not black. Has weight in it.

Apparently these were delivered earlier than planned.

Got mine at Nicholas Smith if any of you are in the Phila 'burbs and interested. They had RDG, LV and WM models.

The delivery date for these, the tank cars and the boxcars always was December, so they are right on time.  Looking forward to picking up an unlettered to start so I can redo my L&NE version.

No pics on Klein's site yet.  Can't wait to see them.  Maybe Star has some buried behind all those boxes around the counter...

Now if they could get around to tweeking their F unit to get the DCC treatment, I'd have a real fleet builder.

If that is the nscale model it looks good from a molding standpoint. But that orange IS a terrible miss as far as MEC harvest gold goes. Red caboose made the same mistake on theiR mechanical reefer years ago, did the whole MEC fleet(both of them) in the run and painted them PFE orange. Fortunatly Athearn corrected it a few years later with their model of the mechanical reefer. I will have to see if I have enough micro scale decals stashed away to replace my Lifelike fleet of cabooses with the new bachmann. But since micro scale doesn't make the n scale MEC caboose set anymore the Lifelikes may stay.

Wow; Bachmann made a model and the critic's are having a field day......who'd have thunk it ?

For what it's worth; and not commenting on a paint shade that I know nothing about, the model looks ok to me....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Throw some dirt. rist and wear on it and the colors will blend in.  At least Bachmann is producing new products at a decent rate and they sure as hell have improved over a couple years ago.  Who else would ever do a 44 or 70 tonner, etc.  Here's hoping they do some new steam (preferable PRR) in the near future

Pudd, I like a lot of bachmann's recent stuff and have bought several 70 tonners and a 44 tonner. That said if that is the shade they used it is not close to anything the Mec ever used.

That thread proves how many morons there are out there... ... How can one guy say the lettering is black when it is clearly green. And the yes the prototype used Imron "Harvest Gold" not the orange like Bman has done.
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1

Appears to be a big upgrade over the original Life Like model.  Similar construction design but better execution.

Mein Gott!  Actual window sashes as well as glass!!!  What is the world coming to!  The flanges look a tad "generous", but hell, that's easy.  I just hope it comes in a new and improved jewel case!!

Sign me up for a half dozen or more!!  I wonder if we'll get the circus scheme? (And wouldn't it be a delight to get aluminum framed windows if we do!!)
