Received the new "Model Railroader" DVD's today...

Still no joy. I got the replacement disks today and get the same error on both my imac and my mac laptop. The first disk loads then bombs as soon as the script runs. The error is -6086 (how ironic).

I am running mac os 10.5.8 on both machines. Any ideas? Do I need to upgrade Mac OS. The DVD box says 10.4.1 or higher.

I had trouble installing on Windows 7.  But I was installing to a network drive, so I just used a VMWare virtual XP machine to load and install the entire library on my network.  The good thing is that it doesn't need to register any link libraries.  So after the install, I created a shortcut on the W7 machine and it worked fine.

I don't know how to get around the Mac error.

Also waiting anxiously north of the border!  Not only that, I haven't received the January MR yet, and that is about 10 days late . . .  Life is hard.

Kalmbach has a patch for Mac users. You call them and they email it to you.
It replaces the installer.

It worked on my old PowerBook G4 and my intel iMac. Yeah, finally!

It is very cool. Reading the old issues and how people had to use clock springs, and files and other crude tools to build models gives me new respect to the early model railroaders. Some of the work is incredible, then you consider what they had to start with and its even more amazing.

The other thing it makes me realize is the deep and rich history that this hobby has.  Yes, very cool indeed.
