A brass car with a bad decal job is still a brass car.
One of my favorite engine restorations was a Hallmark U23B that was brush painted with Testors black and had rub on HO scale PC decals. After a three day bath in industrial paint stripper, a few days of rewiring and tune ups and a week of painting it came out looking pretty darned good.
