A great choice given that these transfer cabeese are probably among those still operating today, and well suited to a switching/industrial operation.  I could even see one or two for a connecting shortline/industrial line that I'm thinking about.....  Very cool.

I don't think the NP used them. But Im sure I can come up with a story for one. I have always liked transfer cabooses.

Perhaps not an exact match, but I could certainly see me picking up at least a Conrail one...  possibly a Penn Central one as well.

It's close :), but the real SP one is a one off and is also not symmetrical (one end was more badly damaged in the crash, so the cabin is shorter to one side of the bay window). That said, the chassis would be a good start and may help me finish mine.

THIS is HUGE!!!

The top drawing is the Mopac short bay window caboose. These were home built cabooses that were everywhere in the 70's-80's on the MP and UP.

Have to paint one up for Texas Mexican, which was the only other road to roster one new.

Pretty cool to see these coming. 8)

N&W had one class (R1) of this transfer style caboose (EL had some built to the N&W design too) , though unlike any that Bluford has announced.
