New IMRC R-70-20 Refrigerator Cars

The new Intermountain R-70-20 refrigerator cars have finally arrived.  The photos of the cars at MB Kleins look really nice with what appears to be etched metal grates over the refrigerator units.  The ride height looks bad, but hopefully BLMA 70 ton trucks and body mounted MT's will fix that with minimal effort.  I have a question for the BN guys.  The BNFE cars look on the orange side of yellow in the photos.  Is this correct, or did IMRC get the color incorrect?  I quickly looked at Fallen Flags, and BNFE cars looked much more reefer yellow, albiet very dirty.  Any help is appreciated.

That orange/yellow faded/changed mucho quick; al la the PGE insulated cars that began yellow and within a year ended up dirty ornage.... I'm just sayin..... ;)

Well, without arguing too much about the sunlight in that bottom pic, I can tell you that the top pic is far and away more representative of what you see in real life.  And that is what I would consider the heavy weather job "orange", not even the original color.

Can you take that car and fade/weather it to look like the bottom pic?  Probably.  But that's hardly the m.o. of model railroad manufacturers to release a paint job in that manner.   Nevertheless, spilt milk at this point.

I know I will regret this, but "what's wrong with the tooling".....the car looks, from my limited review to be accurate or at least within the current accepted margin.............

Not accuracy... just level of detail... the door doesn't look so hot... the recess around the rods (that aren't flat on the body either... they're molded coming off the body at an angle) and ratchet mech is gaudy.

I don't think so...   These are all new tooling - not the old R/C cars, which were not so bad to begin with.
There are TWO models - one original and one with the modernized ends.

The IM tooling is a newer prototype than the RC version, correct? I remember the RC had a peaked roof while this car has an arched roof like the old MDC tooling.

I really wish they did the smooth sided FGE cars instead. They were sold to BN, made it to BNSF and finally were included in the ARMN rebuilds.

Other than the Orange which looks pretty bad, I think the pad printing of the BN logo is by far the most visually distracting aspect of this particular car.
It looks narrower on the top than the bottom and the black body part of the B around the N looks too heavy or thick.
